On this day in 1609, Shakespeare’s Sonnets were first published in London. And I could not resist using the very quotable William Shakespeare for our thought for the week. “Fortune brings in some boats that are not steered.” -William Shakespeare
I really like this quote because we put a lot of undue pressure and stress on ourselves when we think that all of our fortunes in life are dependent on our making it happen. Sometimes I find it incredibly helpful to look at what in my tradition we refer to as divine providence.
This helps me to be thankful for the many things that I have been given and to not worry about the things that I cannot control.
